HIAB truck mounted cranes - Atlas Polar marks half a century
Atlas Polar is the company that introduced the HIAB truck mounted cranes to Canada in 1953. Since then we have continued to offer the complete HIAB product line, and have watched it become Canada's most popular truck mounted crane.
HIAB built better to work harder for youThe HIAB name means unmatched quality and performance. Their truck mounted cranes are designed and built to the highest engineering standards. That is why they have the best resale value in the industry.
The superior feel can be seen in all aspects of its design. Its hydraulic systems ensure tight control in any situation. When it comes to cab design, priority is given to operator comfort.
HIAB offers over 60 models with applications in industries as varied as construction and road building, telecommunications, and recycling.
Rigorous safety standards built into every craneNo HIAB product leaves the factory without being tested to the highest standards in the industry. Atlas Polar is proud of the safety record of these cranes, which meet ISO 9001 standards and the new EU standard EN 12999. They also meet construction standards for EN 13001, soon to replace DIN 15018.
Innovation is the hallmark of HIAB
Like Atlas Polar, HIAB is an innovator. And has been the first to market with new features that have become industry standards. Since the introduction of hydraulic grapples and rotators in 1955, HIAB has continued to develop and improve its products, becoming the leader that others in the industry follow.
Atlas Polar is proud to have shared in this tradition of innovation, having invented the first remote control system for HIAB cranes in 1974.
Operator trainingAtlas Polar also offers two operator training courses to help operators gain accreditation for crane use. Other benefits of training include:
- better operator safety and productivity
- longer life cycle from better operator knowledge
- less downtime for cranes
The Introduction to HIAB Crane Operation course is a half-day course for new operators that emphasizes safety and offers hands-on training.
It is a one-day course that discusses operation and safety. It is designed for experienced operators and those who have completed our "Introduction to HIAB Crane Operation" course and worked for one month on an articulated crane.
